On 6 and 7 March 2019, the World Employment Confederation (WEC), together with its counterpart organisation in Spain, ASEMPLEO, presented the first Ibero-American strategic dialogue on employment. For two days they analysed the labour market, exchanged experiences and good practices, looking for synergies that help to develop social innovation as a key factor for the future of employment.
Characteristics common to the markets in the different countries of Latin America and Spain were identified. The trends that make up the new world of work were analysed, as well as the joint challenges that companies face globally in the new constantly changing working environment.
Among others, Annemarie Muntz - President of the World Employment Confederation (WEC) Global, Bettina Schaller - President of WEC Europe, Antonio Garamendi - President of CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations), Andreu Cruañas - President of ASEMPLEO, Martín Padulla - CEO FOWiberoamerica, Joaquín Nieto - Director of the ILO Office for Spain, Andrea Salvatori - OECD Labour Economist -, Magdalena Valerio - Spanish Minister of Labour, Francesco Chiodi - Coordinator of Social Policies of the European Union Programme EUROsocial+ -, Laura Castela - Head of Employability Projects at Fundación Telefónica -, participants from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay Federico Muttoni.
Federico Muttoni - Director of Advice - spoke about the cooperation of companies with the educational system, equal opportunities, such as improving the employability of people, cooperation with public employment services and cooperation with public institutions to face their challenges by adjusting their policies, laws or regulations for employment.
