In a complex and dynamic context, every day people, companies and institutions, make decisions in the labour market. Providing information on the characteristics, measuring, analyzing and anticipating trends in the labor market is the main objective of the Labor Monitor. The labor market closes the first quarter of the year with negative signals. The social and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 has led to a drastic drop in job applications by companies.
In the month of March, the demand for labor decreased 24% with respect to the previous month. From a year-on-year perspective the decline was even greater, with a 43% drop. This translates into a difference of about a thousand fewer job opportunities, comparing March 2020 and March 2019, according to the main job portals surveyed by Advice.
